Signalperson/Rigger Training
Hoffman Equipment class combines signalperson and rigger training
- One day of signalperson training and one of rigger level 1 training
- Take the NCCCO rigger exam on the third day to satisfy certification requirements
Three Day Session Earns Certification
Hoffman Equipment’s training class begins with one day of signalperson training, followed by a day of rigger level 1 training. The two sessions can be followed by the NCCCO rigger exam on the third day to satisfy certification requirements, upon successfully completing the exam.
Signalperson Training
This one day training class includes a review of all requirements needed for passing the signalperson certification exam. It includes:
- Basic crane capacity
- Dangers of high voltage
- Personnel platform usage
- Detailed hand signal application
- Detailed voice command application
- Basic crane operation
- Understanding backward stability
- Evaluation written exam
- Hands-on training
Rigger Level 1 Training
A rigger is certified to handle and move loads. This one day training class includes a review of all requirements needed for passing the rigger level 1 certification exam. Upon successful completion of the exam, the basic level certified rigger is authorized to conduct rigging activities that include simple, repetitive rigging tasks. Certain information must be provided or known by the rigger because of experience or training, such as the load weight, center of gravity, the rigging, and the rigging configuration. It includes:
- Pre-use rigging inspection
- Identify and attach rigging with basic knowledge of hitch configurations, capacities, and basic knots
- Recognize associated hazards
- Signaling operations
- Use various types of rigging equipment and basic hitches and their applications
- Evaluation exam
- Hands-on training
NCCCO Certification
There are separate exams required to obtain NCCCO Certification for signalperson and rigger level 1. A written exam and a practical exam are required for each certification.
Hoffman Equipment fully endorses the national certification program offered by the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) and will prepare candidates for the CCO tests.
